Who we are
Dominic Young trading as TallyGuard is the data controller for this website and for enquiry emails sent to me. There is one business: TallyGuard. I handle enquiries and paid work for Business Intelligence and/or Security Consulting.
For privacy questions, I am the person to contact. There is no postal address listed. Use email or phone instead.
What I collect
This is a marketing website only. It does not have a member login or a newsletter signup. It does not use a CRM or a marketing database for enquiries.
The contact form collects only your name, email address, message, and company name if you choose to give it. That is enough for me to reply about Business Intelligence or Security Consulting.
When you submit the form, the website server receives that data over HTTPS, then forwards it straight to my Microsoft 365 Outlook mailbox at enquiries@tallyguard.net. Resend is the processor that delivers that form email. Microsoft 365 Outlook is the processor that holds the mailbox. After the email is sent, the website does not retain a copy of the submission — not in a database, not in a CRM, and not in server logs of the message body.
You can also email me directly at enquiries@tallyguard.net. Those messages sit in Microsoft 365 Outlook so I can reply.
If we later take on paid Business Intelligence or Security Consulting work, I keep the contact details and files needed to do that work in Microsoft 365: enquiry and project email in Outlook, and documents in OneDrive.
Paid Security Consulting work may include confidential business or security information. I keep that only as needed for the engagement, then delete or archive it.
Processors I use
I use these processors to handle the information above:
- Resend — sends the contact-form email to Microsoft 365 Outlook. The form is not written to a marketing database.
- Microsoft 365 Outlook — holds the mailbox where enquiries and project email sit.
- OneDrive — holds engagement files for paid Business Intelligence or Security Consulting work.
Why I use the information (UK GDPR)
For an enquiry, I rely on legitimate interests: it is reasonable to read and reply to a message someone chose to send me. If we then take on paid Business Intelligence or Security Consulting work, I also use the information as needed to enter into and perform that contract.
I do not use enquiry emails for marketing lists, profiling, or automated decisions.
How long I keep it
The website itself does not keep the form submission after it has been emailed to me. To stop spam, the website briefly keeps your IP address and the time of each form attempt in memory for about 10 minutes (no message content). That rate-limit data then expires.
Unanswered enquiries are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted or archived. Enquiry emails that become paid work are kept as needed to run the engagement, then deleted or archived.
Paid Security Consulting work may include confidential business or security information. I keep that only as needed for the engagement, then delete or archive it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you; to have it corrected; to have it deleted; to restrict how I use it; to object to my using it, including where I rely on legitimate interests to handle an enquiry; and to ask for a copy in a portable format where data portability applies. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how I have handled your data.
To exercise those rights, email me at enquiries@tallyguard.net.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use non-essential cookies or analytics.
I do not sell personal data. This site has no tracking scripts, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics.
How to contact me

Prefer the contact form? It is on the contact page. The server receives the message and Resend forwards it to my Microsoft 365 Outlook mailbox; the website does not retain a copy.
